Aluminum Fluoride (AlF3) is an inorganic compound used primarily in the production of aluminum. This colourless solid can be prepared synthetically but also occurs in nature. Aluminium fluoride is an important additive for the production of aluminum by electrolysis.

Product Application

AlF3 is mainly used as a makeup ingredient in the molten electrolyte of the Aluminium reduction cell and in the electrolytic process for refining Aluminium.

In lower volume it is used in the glass industry, low melting glazer, enamels & Ceramics.

Potassium Fluoride is the chemical compound with the formula KF. After hydrogen fluoride, KF is the primary source of the fluorideion for applications in manufacturing and in chemistry. It is an alkali halide and occurs naturally as the rare mineral carobbiite. Solutions of KF will etch glass due to the formation of soluble fluorosilicates, although HF is more effective.

For glass engraving, food preservation, plating.

Can be used as welding flux, insecticide, catalyst, absorbent (absorb HF and moisture).

Can be used as the fluorinated agent of organic compounds.
